Do the right mix. An initiative of the European Commission

European Mobility Week 2015, celebrating from 16 and 22 September, bets for the use of substainable transport on displacements.

 

The City Council of Granada support this call with a number of measures to encourage the use of bicycle and urban bus.

The european week of mobility, from the 16 to 22 September, bets this year for the use of susbtainable transport on displacements. "Elige. Cambia. Combina. Tu movilidad" is the slogan of the campaign of 2015. This phrase gives the idea of multimodality and susbtainable modality and tries to raise awareness on citizens about the neccessity of combine the different means of transport on habitual displacements.

The City Council of Granada, in line with the proposal of the european week, appeals to substainable displacements alternating different means of transport, as bibycle and bus, bus and walking. For this reason the Mobility and Citizen´s Protection Area joins the european call with a number of measures to encourage the use of bicycle and urban bus.

On 18 September, Friday, will be dedicated to public transport. Bus will be free from 12 to 13 hours. This decision want to spread and make known public transport between grenadians that usually does not use it and reward habitual users.

On Sunday, 20, will be day of bicycle, joined by the City Council. The council of Mobility, María Francés, will participate in the XVIII Bicycle Race, following the streets of the city from 12:30 hours.

The Municipal Educational Center and Road Safety will start the numerous activities developed in the course, focused to school centers, in the context of the european week of mobility.

The City Council of Granada, in line with the european week and the aims of the campaign, stands up for a substainable mobility and motivate citizens to modify their habits of displacement and look for choices to private vehicle, to make awareness and sensitize about the benefits that, for health and environment, have another kind of transport , as bus, bicycle and go walking.

European Mobility Week, an initiative supported by the European Commission, is developed on September of every year.
